Meet Jean Abbott

One in a Million...Twice

For over 30 years, Jean lived believing she had Cerebral Palsy. She adapted, pushed through challenges, and learned how to keep moving forward even when life felt difficult. Then came the shocking truth: she had been misdiagnosed. The real diagnosis was Dopa-Responsive Dystonia — a rare condition affecting only about one in a million people.

The right medication changed her life. Suddenly, things she had struggled with for decades became possible. That experience gave her more than physical freedom — it gave her a completely new perspective. Jean learned to appreciate the little things most people overlook - like putting clean sheets on the bed and cooking simple meals!   Jean also discovered that even good change can feel scary when it completely rewrites the story you thought you were living.

Then life handed her another “one in a million” moment: a diagnosis of Appendix Cancer. Once again, she  faced uncertainty, fear, and questions about the future. And once again, Jean had a choice — to live in fear or to live by faith. Through surgeries, recovery, and the emotional weight of the unknown, she discovered a deeper strength and purpose.

By sharing her story openly and honestly, Jean has had the privilege of encouraging and inspiring people around the world. Her journey is proof that even in life’s hardest moments, hope, purpose, and joy can still be found.

What Jean Does

Today, Jean uses her experiences to help others move beyond fear, rediscover purpose, and embrace the life they were created for.

As a keynote speaker, Jean shares powerful messages about resilience, faith, overcoming adversity, and finding purpose through life’s unexpected twists and turns. Jean's remarkable story connects with audiences in healthcare, women’s leadership, faith-based organizations, and corporate spaces because it reminds people that challenges do not define them — how they rise through them does.

As a Purpose Coach, Jean helps people reconnect with their dreams, uncover what truly matters to them, and take intentional steps toward living a more meaningful and fulfilled life. Whether she's speaking on stage, coaching one-on-one, or encouraging others online, her mission is simple: to help people see that they have a  purpose.

Beyone the Stage

At the end of the day, Jean is simply a woman who loves deeply, laughs loudly, and believes connection changes lives. She's a proud mom to three amazing children and grandma to one beautiful grandson who brings endless joy to her life.

Jean believes laughter truly is some of the best medicine, and she is never afraid to be vulnerable if it means helping someone else feel less alone. Life has taught her that perfection isn’t the goal — growth is. Every day, she is  still learning, healing, growing, and becoming a better version of herself.

And if there’s one thing Jean. hopes people take away from her story, it’s this: no matter what life hands you, there is still beauty, purpose, and hope ahead.

Changing Lives with One Video

This video was captured long before I ever imagined becoming a speaker or coach. At the time, I was simply sharing my heart and navigating life after discovering I had been misdiagnosed with Cerebral Palsy for 30 years, only to learn I actually had Dopa Responsive Dystonia. Looking back now, I can see that even then, God was already preparing me to encourage others through hope, resilience, and purpose.
