Our space to learn, growth and connect

One of the Six Private Bedrooms

Evening bonfire, weather permitting
Maybe life looks a little different than you thought it would by now.
The kids don't need you in quite the same way. A relationship has changed. Your career is shifting. You've walked through a health challenge. Or maybe nothing dramatic has happened at all — you simply know you're ready for something more.
Somewhere along the way, you started asking:
What do I want now?
Who am I becoming?
And what do I want this next chapter of my life to look like?

will help you transform life's unexpected detours into opportunities for purpose, growth and impact -- so you can stop dwelling on what was lost, and start embracing what is still possible.
Your story isn't over.
There is still more for you.
And this weekend is about discovering what that MORE might look like for you.
Not your kids.
Not your spouse or partner.
Not your job.
Not your to-do list.
You.
The PURPOSE AFTER RETREAT is your opportunity to step away from the noise of everyday life and create space to reconnect with yourself --who you are now, what matters most to you, and what you want this next chapter to look like.
Over the weekend, you'll have time to reflect, explore your purpose, dream a little bigger, and begin creating a vision for what comes next.
And this won't be a weekend spent sitting in workshops from morning until night.
There will be meaningful conversations and guided activies, but there will also be delicious food, laughter, downtime, new friendships, quiet moments, and ---if Minnesota weather cooperates --- time around the campfire.
You don't need to reinvent yourself.
Sometimes you simply need enough space to reconnect with the woman who has been there all along -- and see what's still possible.

Your Host - Jean Abbott

This weekend isn't about sitting around talking about everything that went wrong.
It's about honoring where you've been, reconnecting with with who you are, and intentionally looking toward where you want to go next.
We'll take time to acknowledge the chapters that have shaped you -- including the ones that didn't turn out the way you expected.
This ins't about forgetting your past. It's about recognizing what you've learned from it, so it doesn't define you.
Through guided exercises, conversations, and your Purpose Factor Assessment, you'll explore your strengths, experiences, values, and the ways you're uniquely wired to make an impact.
Now we get to dream. You'll explore what you want this next season of life to look and feel like, create your Role Model Self Vision Board, and begin identifying the meaningful next steps toward the woman you want to become.
Before the retreat, you'll complete your Purpose Factor Assessment to better understand how you're uniquely wired to experience YOUR purpose and make an impact.
Thought-provoking exercises and conversations will help you reflect on where you've been, reconnect with who you are, and explore where you want to go next.
You'll create a vision board centered around the woman you want to become -not just things you want to have, but how you want to live, feel and show up in your next chapter.
Settle into a beautiful Minnesota log home on the Mississippi River, where your lodging, meals and snacks throughout the weekend are all included. You’ll also enjoy mindful yoga and meditation with instructor Carrie Kehnle, along with your Purpose Factor Assessment, workshop materials, and everything you’ll need to create your Role Model Self Vision Board.
See the FAQ below for sleeping accommodations and room details.
This weekend won't be all workshops. There will be downtime, meaningful conversations, laughter, new friendships, quiet moments- and if the Minnesota weather cooperates, time around the campfire.
You'll receive a private one-hour virtual coaching session with Jean after the retreat to reflect on what you discovered and turn those insights into meaningful next steps
I know what it feels like when life doesn’t follow the plan you had for it.
Over the years, I’ve navigated more than a few unexpected chapters. I lived three decades with a physical disability and a diagnosis that ultimately turned out to be wrong. I’ve helped care for a parent through in-home hospice, watched my two oldest children leave for college, navigated divorce and co-parenting, and most recently faced a major health diagnosis, surgery, and a long recovery.
Each transition looked different. But many of them eventually brought me back to the same questions:
I’ve learned that resilience isn’t simply about getting through difficult things. Sometimes resilience means giving yourself permission to stop, reassess, and decide how you want to move forward.
That lesson has shaped not only my own life, but the work I do today as a keynote speaker and certified Purpose Factor® coach.
I don’t believe our purpose disappears when our circumstances change. Sometimes a new season gives us the opportunity to rediscover it—and to live it in a way we never imagined before.
That's why I created the PURPOSE AFTER RETREAT.
Not because I have every answer for what your next chapter should look like. but because I know the power of creating space to ask the questions- and I would be honored to help you discover your own answers.
Life has rewritten my story more than once. Each time, I found the courage to move forward.
Now I want to help you do the same.

The PURPOSE AFTER RETREAT is intentionally limited to just eight women, creating space for meaningful connection, personal reflection, and individualized support throughout the weekend. Your registration reserves your place in this intimate retreat experience.
All attendee-initiated cancellations are non-refundable, regardless of whether you select the one-time payment or monthly payment plan.
By completing your registration, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
If the retreat is canceled by the host: All payments received will be refunded in full. If the retreat must be rescheduled, registered participants will have the option to attend on the new dates or receive a full refund.
Please review the retreat dates and your availability carefully before registering. We appreciate your understanding as we thoughtfully prepare this special experience for a small group of women.

Please reach out if you have additional questions.
🛏️ 1st to register: Master bedroom + private bathroom (King bed)
🛏️ Next 5: Their own private bedroom (Queen bed)
🛏️ Final 2: Their own twin bed in the cozy open loft
Aitkin is located in north-central Minnesota, approximately 2–2½ hours from the Twin Cities and 2½–3 hours from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).
The exact retreat address will be provided to registered guests.
Travel in not included.
Because our time together is limited and the retreat experience begins from the moment we gather, all guests will need to arrive during the designated arrival window. It’s important that we begin together so everyone can fully experience the connection, activities, and transformation planned for the weekend.
If you’re traveling from out of state and your flight schedule makes that difficult, I recommend arriving the day before. I’d be happy to provide recommendations for nearby accommodations so you can arrive at the retreat rested and ready to begin with us.mited
No! Meals and snacks are included with your retreat. Before the weekend, you'll have an opportunity to share any dietary needs or food allergies so we can plan accordingly.
If you have highly specialized dietary requirements, please reach out to me before registering so we can make sure we're able to accommodate your needs.
The Purpose Factor® Assessment is a tool designed to help you better understand what gives you a sense of purpose and fulfillment and how your unique strengths, experiences, and interests can come together to create meaningful impact.
You’ll complete the assessment before the retreat, and we’ll use your results during the weekend as we rediscover who you are and explore what purpose can look like in your next chapter.
Because the Purpose After Retreat is intentionally limited to just eight women and expenses are committed in advance, all retreat payments are non-refundable. If you choose a payment plan, you are committing to the full retreat investment, including any remaining scheduled payments.
Life can be unpredictable, so I strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that includes appropriate trip-cancellation coverage to help protect your investment should an unexpected situation prevent you from attending.
Not at all! You’re welcome to come with a friend or come on your own. With only eight women, the retreat is intentionally designed to create meaningful connections in a warm, welcoming environment. You may arrive as strangers, but my hope is that you’ll leave as friends.
Participation is encouraged, but no one will be pressured to share anything she isn't comfortable sharing.
Yes. Red and white wine will be available for those who would like to enjoy a glass in the evening. This is not a party weekend—the focus is on connection, reflection, relaxation, and personal growth.
Soda, water, and other non-alcoholic options will also be available for anyone who prefers not to drink alcohol.
In the unlikely event that I need to cancel the Purpose After Retreat, you will receive a full refund of all retreat payments you have made.
Please note that I cannot reimburse travel or other expenses incurred outside of the retreat registration, which is another reason I recommend purchasing travel insurance.
